Given :

4 x - y = 4…………( eq. 1)

3 x + 2 y= 14………..( eq. 2)

From eq 1

y = 4 x - 4

Put x= 0

y = 4 × 0 - 4

y = 0 - 4

y = -4

Put x= 1

y = 4 x 1 - 4

y= 4 - 4

y= 0

Put x = 2

y = 4 x - 4

y = 4 × 2 - 4

y = 8 - 4

y = 4

Table 1

X | 0 | 1 | 2 |

Y | -4 | 0 | 4 |

From eq 2

y =( 14 - 3x )/ 2

Put x= 0

y = (14-3×0)/2= (14 - 0)/2= 14/2 = 7

y = 7

Put x=2

y = (14-3×2)/2= (14 - 6)/2= 8/2 = 4

y = 4

Put x= 4

y = (14-3×4)/2= (14 - 12)/2= 2/2 = 1

y = 1

Table 2

X | 0 | 2 | 4 |

Y | 7 | 4 | 1 |

Make graph from table 1 & 2

[GRAPH IS IN THE ATTACHMENT]

As (2,4) is common , therefore solution is (2,4).

Answer:

Correct option is

B

x=1,y=3

Equation (i) is x+y=4

i.e. y=4−x and

3x−2y=−3

i.e y=

2

(3x+3)

We draw the graphs.

From the graph (x,y)=(1,3)

The required area is a triangle

Ans- Option B.
