2x + 3y = 11

x - y = 1 OR 2x - 2y = 2

2x + 3y = 11

- (2x - 2y = 2)

5y = 9

y = 9/5

2x + 3y = 11

2x + 3(9/5) = 11

2x + 27/5 = 11

2x = 11-27/5

2x = (55-27)/5

2x = 23/5

x = 23/10
