Given :-

2x + 7y -11 = 0

3x - y - 5 = 0

R.T.P :-

To solve the equation.....

Solution :-

2x + 7y = 11 .......... eq (1)

3x - y = 5 .............. eq (2)

We can do it by Elimination method .....

eq (1) × 3 – 6x + 42y = 66

eq (2) × 2 – 6x - 2y = 10 ( here the signs change)

44y = 55

y = 55/44

y = 5/4

substitute y = 5/4 in eq [ I prefer eq (1)]

2x + 7 × 5/4 = 11

2x + 35/4 = 11

2x = 11 - 35/4

2x = 9/4

x = 9/4 × 1/2

x = 9/8

Therefore x = 9/8 ; y = 5/4 .....
