Solve the following pair of linear equation in two variables for x and y, 2x-3y=13and 7x-2y=20

2x-3y = 13 .....(1) × 2

7x - 2y = 20 .....(2) × 3

Multiply eq.(1) with 2 and eq.(2) with 3.

= 4x - 6y = 26 ....(3)

= 21 x - 6y = 60 ....(4)

On doing (3) - (4)

We get ,

-17x = -34

=> x = 2

Put this value in eq.(3)

4*(2) - 6y = 26

-6y = 26 - 8

y = 18/-6

y = -3

Therefore, x = 2 and y = -3.
