solve the following pair of linear equation using elimination method x-3y-7=0 and 3x-5y-16=0

we have

x-3y-7=0.......(i)

on multiply by 3 in eqn i we get

3x-9y-21=0

3x-9y=21

from eqn i

3x-9y=21...i

3x-5y=16...ii

-4y= 5

y= -5/4
