Answer:

Elimination Method

15x-8y=29...(1)

17x+12y=75...(2)

Multiplying by 17 in the 1st equation

17(15x-8y=29)

255x-136y=493...(3)

Multiplying by 15 in the 2nd equation

15(17x+12y=75)

255x+180y= 1125...(4)

Subtracting equation (4) from (3)

255x-136y=493

255x+180y=1125

(-) (-) (-)

______________

-316y=-632

______________

Hence, y=(-632/-316)

Hence, y=2

Substituting y=2 in equation (1)... we get...

15x-16=29

15x=45

x=3

Hence x=3 & y=2 is the solution for the given equation...
