By substitution method
x + y = 15 , x - y = 1------(2)
x + y = 15----(1) , x = 1 + y------(3)

1 + y + y = 15
2y = 15 - 1
y = 14/2
y = 7
using equation y = 7 in (1)
x + 7 = 15
