Step-by-step explanation:

0.2x+0.4y=0.5. (1)

3x+y=2. (2)

from (2) equation we get

x=2-y/3. (3)

now put (3) equation in (1)

0.2×2-y/3+0.4y=0.5

y=1.83

put value y in EQ (2)

3x+y=2

x=1.39
