Answer:

0.4x+0.3y=0.6 multiply by 2

0.8x+0.6y=0.12

this is 1st eqn

0.9x+0.2y=0.3 multiply by 3

0.27x+0.6y=0.9

this is 2nd eqn

therefore

from 1 and 2

0.8x+0.6y=0.12

0.27x+0.6y=0.9

therefore

+0.6y and -0.6y gets cancelled

-0.19x=0.3

×=0.3 divided by -0.19

X=1.5

and y

from 1st eqn

0.4×1.5+0.3y=0.6

0.60+0.3y=0.6

0.3y=0.54

therefore,

y=0.54÷ by 0.3

y=1.8
