Given equation

3x + 4y = 10               (i)

2x - 2y = 2                 (ii)

To find

Value of x and y by elimination method

Now take both Equation

3x + 4y = 10               (i)

2x - 2y = 2                 (ii)

To Eliminate x  we can write as

3x + 4y = 10               (i) ×1

x - y = 1                       (ii)×3

We get

3x + 4y = 10                 (i)

3x + 3y = 1                    (ii)

Now subtract (ii) from (i)

3x + 4y - (3x + 3y) = 10 -1

3x + 4y - 3x - 3y = 9

y = 9

Now Put the value of y on (ii) eq

x - y = 1                       (ii)

where y = 9

x - 9 = 1

x = 9+ 1

x=10

Answer

y = 9 and x - 10
