Answer
- x = 2
- y = 3
Given
4x - 5y + 7 = 0
3x - 4y + 6 = 0
To Find
To solve given equations by Elimination method
Solution
4x - 5y + 7 = 0
On multiplying 3 on both sides , we get ,
⇒ 3( 4x - 5y + 7 ) = 3(0)
⇒ 12x - 15y + 21 = 0 ... (1)
3x - 4y + 6 = 0
On multiplying both sides with 4 , we get ,
⇒ 4 ( 3x - 4y + 6 ) = 4(0)
⇒ 12x - 16y + 24 = 0 ... (2)
Now , solve (2) - (1) , we get ,
⇒ ( 12x - 16y + 24 ) - ( 12x - 15y + 21 ) = 0 - 0
⇒ 12x - 16y + 24 - 12x + 15y - 21 = 0
⇒ - y + 3 = 0
⇒ y = 3
Sub. y value in any of given eq. ,
⇒ 4x - 5(3) + 7 = 0
⇒ 4x - 15 + 7 = 0
⇒ 4x = 8
⇒ x = 2
