Solution:-

x + y = 7 ............(i)eq

2x - 3y = - 11 ............(ii) eq

By Substitution method

From eq(i) we get

x + y = 7

x = 7 - y .............(iii) eq

Now substituting x = 7 - y on eq(ii)

2x - 3y = - 11

2( 7 - y ) - 3y = - 11

14 - 2y - 3y = - 11

- 5y = -11 - 14

y = 25/5

y = 5

Now substituting y = 5 on eq (iii)

x = 7 - y

x = 7 - 5

x = 2
