x-y=1---------eq.1

2x-3y=5--------eq.2

multiply eq.1 with 2 we get:-

2x-2y=2---------eq.3

subtracting eq. 3 from eq. 2 we get:-

2x-3y-(2x-2y)=5-2

2x-3y-2x+2y=3

3y+2y=3

y=3/5

putting value of y in eq. 1 we get:-

x-y=1

x-3/5=1

x=1+(3/5)

=(5+3)/5

x=8/5
