Answer:

Given equations are y-4x=1 & 6x-5y=9

let's take y-4x=1

=> y = 1 + 4x -------(1)

Now, Substitute 'y' value in 6x-5y=9 from equation (1)

Take 6x-5y=9

=> 6x - 5(1+4x)=9

=> 6x - (5 + 20x ) =9

=> 6x - 5 - 20x = 9

=> (6x - 20x) = 9+5

=> -14x = 14 (or) 14x = -14

=> x = -1

Therefore x = -1

Now, Substitute value of 'x' in equation (1)

equation (1) is y=1+4x

=> y = 1 + 4(-1)

=> y = 1 - 4

=> y = -3

Therefore value of x = -1 & y = -3
