Step-by-step explanation:

we have x+y=5-(1) and 2x-3y=4-(2)

first

multiply x+y=5 from 2

we will get 2x+2y=10-(3)

now subtract (1) from (3)

2x-3y=4

2x+2y=10

we will get -y=-6/5

so y=6/5 and x will be 19/5
