Answer:

put 1/X+y=a. , 1/x-y=b

then

9a+5b=8 ------(1)

12a+7b=11 -------(2)

subtract (1) and (2)

We get,

=12a+7b=11 (multiply by 3)

=36a+21b=33 -----(3)

=9a+5b=8(multiply by 4)

=36a+20b=32-------(4)

now subtract (3) and (4)

we get,

b = 1/1 -----(5)

now sub (5) in (1)

we get,

a = 1/3-----(6)

SO.

1/x +y=a

1/x+y=1/3

= x+y=3----(7)

1/x-y=b

1/x-y=1

=x-y=1-----(8)

subtract (7)&(8)

we get ,

2X=4

X=2

sub x=2 in (7)

so,y=1

(X=2. &. y=1)
