Solve the following pairs of equations :
a) 21x + 47y = 110 ; 47x + 21y = 162

nicolesunil: THIS ANSWER MIGHT HELP U
nicolesunil: First one : add both the equations 21x + 47y =110 , 47x + 21y = 162 let it be equation no:1 . Second one : subract both the equations
21x + 47y =110 , 47x + 21y = 162 let it be equation no:2 .In equation no:1 throught divide by 68.Let it be equation no:3 and equation no: 2 throughout divide by 26.Let it be equation no:4.Using elimination method subract both the equations 3 and 4 you will get the value of x and y.............HOPE IT WORKS FOR U

hello friend
this is like this
a) 21x+ 47y = 110
M.B.S.by 47
we get,
987x + 3407y = 5170................(1)

b) 47x+ 21y = 162
M.B.S by 21
987x + 441y = 3402...........(2

by elimination method
hope it helps u it's easy questionplz understand.

21x + 47y = 110
21x = 110-47y
x=110-47y
put value in eq 2
47(110-47y)+21y=162
517-2209y +21y =162
-2188y=-355
y=-355/-2188
put the value of y in eq of x
X = 110-47*355/2188
x=110-16685/2188
x=110-16685/2188
x=223995/2188
