Answer: x=1 and y=2

Explanation:

let 6x + 3y = 6xy be eqn (i)

     2x + 4y = 5xy be eqn.(ii)

now, to cancel out any one variable, we need oo multiply ii with 3

(i.e), 3(2x+4y=5xy) = 6x + 12y = 15xy...(iii)

subtract i from iii,

                           6x + 12y - 6x - 3y = 15xy - 6xy

                        => 9y = 9xy

                        => x = 1

on substituting x = 1 in eqn. iii, we get,

2 + 4y = 5y

2 = y or y = 2

Therefore, x=1 and y=2.

thnx hope this helps...
