Solve the following pairs of linear equations by the substitution method:

(i) 2x=5Y + 12 (ii) x + y = 7​

x=7-y.............................. equation 1

2x-5y=12

2(7-y)-5y=12 ...............from equation 1

14-2y-5y=12

14-7y=12

14-12=7y

2=7y

y=2÷7

put y=2÷7 in equation 1

x=7-y

x=7-2÷7

x=12÷7

if ur teacher told then u can convert it in decimal for or else let it be in fractional form....
