For 6x - y + 4 = 0 , when x = 0 then y = 4 and when x = 2 then y = 16
For 2x - 5y - 8 = 0 , when x = 4 then y = 0 and when x = 9 then y = 2
So here's the desired graph
And the solution is x = -1 and y = -2

Given : 6x-y+4=0 and 2x-5y=8.

To Find : Solve

Shade the region bounded by the lines and the y-axis

Solution:

6x-y+4=0  => 6x = y - 4

2x-5y=8  => 6x - 15y  = 24  => 6x = 15y +24

Equate 6x

 15y + 24  = y - 4

=> 14y = -28

=>  y = - 2

6x = y - 4

=> 6x = - 6

=> x = - 1

point is ( - 1 , -2)

Solution is  x = - 1  and y =  - 2

6x-y+4=0  at y axis x = 0

=> y = 4

(0 , 4)

2x-5y=8   at y axis x = 0

=> y = (-8/5) = -1.6

(0 , - 1.6)
