Correct question -

Solve the following pairs of linear equations by elimination method-

a) 2x+3y=8 and 4x+6y=7

Answer-

2x +3y=8.......1)

And,

4x+6y=7........2)

Multiplying 1) by 2 we will get,

=>2(2x+3y) =8×2

=>4x+6y=16......3)

Using elimination method in equation 3) and 2)

4x+6y=16

4x+6y=7

(-) (-) (-)

__________

0=9

0\neq9

Therefore the equations have no solutions.
