x+y =14

x - y = 4

(x+y) + (x-y) = 14+4

2x = 18

x = 18/2

x = 9

x - y =4

x - 4 = y

9-4=y

y = 5

Hope this will help....

Given equation

x+y=14

\implies x=14-y

x-y=4

Substituting the value of x, we get,

\implies 14-y-y=4

\implies -2y=4-14

\implies -2y=-10

\implies y = \dfrac{-10}{-2}

\implies y = 5

Substituting the value of y in the second equation, we get,

x-5=4

\implies x = 5+4

\implies x = 9

\boxed{\boxed{\bold{Therefore, \ the \ value \ of \ x \ and \ y \ are \ 9 \ and \ 5 \ respectively}}}}}}}
