5x=3y+18 ..........ii

now;

2x/3 + 3y/4 = 7

or,(2x×4+3y×3)/12=7

or,8x+9y=12×7

or,8x+9y=84

or,8x=84-9y

or,x=(84-9y)/8.......iii

Now,

5x=3y+18

or,5{(84-9y)/8}=3y+18

or,420-45y=8(3y+18)

or,420-45y=24y+144

or,420-144=24y+45y

or,276=69y

:. y=276/69=4

Again;

putting value of y in eq(iii);

5x=3×4+18

or,5x=30

:.x=6

hence,(x,y)=(6,4)
