Then find outi) the ratio of the total population to the number of illiterates.ii) the ratio of the number of literates to number of illiterates.

Solution :

Total population of Bandipur village

= 5400 ----( 1 )

Number illiterates = 900 ---( 2 )

Number of literates = ( 1 ) - ( 2 )

= 5400 - 900

= 4500 ----( 3 )

Now ,

i ) Ratio of the total population to

the number of illiterates = ( 1 )/( 2 )

= 5400/900

= 6 : 1

ii ) Ratio of the number of literates

to number of illiterates = ( 3 )/( 2 )

= 4500/900

= 5 : 1
