METHOD1:
Where V1 and V2 are the velocity of travel of the vehicle.

Vaverage=2V1V2/(V1+V2)
=2×30×50/(30+50)
Vaverage=37.5km/h




METHOD 2:Assume distance is d.

Time to cover d km at 30km/h = d/30 hours.
Time to cover d km at 50km/h = d/50 hours.

Total time = (d/30) + (d/50) = 8d/150 hours.

Average speed = Total distance / Total time
= 2d / (8d/150)
= 300d/8d
= 300/8
= 37.5 km/h
