Solve the following quadratic equation by completing the square method x2+6x-7=0

Answer:

given x^2+6x-7=0

next by adding and subtracting 3^ 2

because we should have convert into( a+ b )^2

then x^2+2(1)3+(3)^2-(3)^2=7

now x^2+2(1)3 +3^2=(3)^2 +7

now from lhs side it is in the form of( a+b)^2

(x+3)^2=9+7

(x+3)^2 =16

shift the square into rhs side

then (x+3)=+or- 4

x=4-3or -4-3

x=1,-7

but we take positive values so that

x=1
