==> 3y² - y - 10 = 0

==> 3y² - (6-5)y - 10 = 0

==> 3y² - 6y +5y -10 = 0

==> 3y(y - 2) +5 (y - 2) = 0

==> ( 3y + 5 ) ( y - 2 ) = 0

==> 3y + 5 = 0

==> 3y = -5

==> y = -5/3

either

==> y - 2 = 0

==> y = 2\bf
