3q² - 2q - 8 = 0

a = 3 , b = - 2 , c = - 8

D = - 4ac

= ( - 2 ) ² - 4 x 3 x - 8

= 4 + 96

= 100

Now solving

x = - b ± D ( D = b² - 4ac )

= - ( - 2 ) ± 100 / 2 x 3

= 2 ± 10 / 6

x = 2 + 10 / 6 or 2 - 10 / 6

= 12/6 or - 8/6

x = 2 or - 4/3 Answer

Answer:

q = -4/3 and q = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

3q²-2q=8

3q²-2q-8=0

3q²-6q+4q-8=0

3q(q-2)+4(q-2)=0

(3q+4) and (q-2)

3q+4= 0 and q-2= 0

3q = -4 and q = 2

q = -4/3 and q = 2
