(x -4)(x +2) = 0

x² + 2x -4x -8 = 0

x² - 2x -8 = 0

factors are already given in question : (x-4) = 0

= x = 4 = α

(x +2) = 0

= x = -2 = β....

α +β = -b/a = 4+(-2) = -2

αβ = c/a = 4 (-2) = -8

hope it help you mate
