5×2-4x-2=0

here 5×2=10

now....

10-4x-2=0 then +10-2=8

so 8-4x=0

transpose 8 to RHS

-4x=-8 ( +8 in the LHS becomes -8 when transpose to RHS )

now transpose -4 to RHS ( as it is in multiplication form when transposed from LHS to RHS it become division ) so...

-8/-4 ( minus in denominator and minus in numerator should be cancelled )

8/4=2

therefore x=2

so 5X2-4X-2=0

5X2=10

then take 10 and subtract it

then the value is 6

then multiply it 4X-2

then 4X2=8

then subtract it to -2

then the answer is 6
