Given -

  • Quadratic equation = 3x² - 14x - 5 = 0

Solution -

We will solve the the given equation by factorisation.

\tt\dashrightarrow{} 3x² - 14x - 5 = 0

\tt\dashrightarrow{} 3x² - 15x + x - 5 = 0

\tt\dashrightarrow{} 3x(x - 5) + 1(x - 5) = 0

\tt\dashrightarrow{} (3x + 1) (x - 5) = 0

For finding the solution

\begin{lgathered}\begin{array}{c|c}\sf 3x + 1 = 0&\sf x - 5 = 0\\\\\sf 3x = -1&\bf x = 5\\\\\bf x = \dfrac{-1}{3}& \end{array}\end{lgathered}

Hence,

  • Zeroes of the given quadratic equation are \sf{\dfrac{-1}{3}} and \sf{5}.

Correct Question :-

  • Solve the following quadratic equations by factorization 3x² - 14x - 5 = 0

Given equation :-

  • 3x² - 14x - 5 = 0

To find :-

  • Value of x by factorisation .

Solution :-

  • 3x²- 14x - 5 = 0

  • 3x² - 15x + x - 5 = 0

  • 3x ( x - 5) + 1 ( x - 5 ) = 0

  • (3x + 1 ) ( x - 1 ) = 0

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  • (3x + 1 )=0 ︱ ( x -1 )=0
