Solve the following quadratic equations (real roots only) by the method of
completing the perfect square:
(1) x² + 3x -10=0 (ii) x² - 6x + 25 = 0
(iii) 12x²-17x+6=0 (iv) 4x² - 12x +1=0
(v) x² - 10x +34 = 0 (vi) 6x²+x-2 = 0

Answer:

1.solution:x²+3x-10=0

x²+(5-2)x -10=0

x²+5x-2x-10=0

x(x+5)-2(x+5)=0

(x+5)(x-2)=0

Therefore,

either , x+5= 0 or. x-2=0

.'. x=-5 •°•x=2

•°•x=-5 , 2
