hey... here's ur solution !!

Substitute,
1 / √x = X. and. 1 / √ y. = Y

2X + 3Y = 2...........................(1)
4X + 9Y = -1...........................(2)

multi eq. (1) by 3 ,
6X + 9Y = 6.............................(3)

adding equ. (3) and eq (2) ,

we get,
10X = 5

X = 1/2

now,
1 / √ x = 1/ 2
➡ x = 4

Now,

3Y = 2- 2X

➡2 - 2( 1/2 )= 1

Y = 1/3➡ 1/ √ y. = 1/3

➡ y = 9

Thus,
x = 4 , y = 9 is the solution

HOPE IT MIGHT BE HELPFUL :)

Let from the question

1/root x = a and 1/root y = b

Then the equation becomes

2a + 3b = 2 -------(1)

4a - 9b = -1 -------(2)
__________________________

Solving (1) and (2)

(1) × 2 》4a + 6b = 4

(2) × 1 》4a - 9b = -1
(-) (+) (+)
________________
15 b = 5
________________

b = 1/3

Then 2a + 3b = 2

2a + 3(1/3) = 2

2a = 2-1

a = 1/2
_________________________

From this a = 1/2 and b = 1/3

Then 1/root x = a

》x = (3)^2 = 9

Also 1/root y = b

》y = (2)^2 = 4
________________________

Hence x = 9 and y = 4
