4(m + 3) = 5
= 4m + 12 = 5
= 4m = 5-12
= 4m = -7
= m = -7/4 or (-1.75)

(-2)( x + 3) = 5
= -2x + (-6) = 5
= -2x - 6 = 5
= -2x = 5+6
=-2x = 11
= x = 11/-2 or (-5.5)

Answer:

m = -7/4

x = -1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

1 -> 4(m + 3 ) =  5

4m + 12 = 5

4m = 5 - 12

4m = -7

m = -7/4

2-> 2(x+3) = 5

2x + 6 = 5

2x = -1

x = -1/2
