Well that is simple

Follow my steps

Given, a ladder 26 m long is resting against a vertical wall. The foot of the ladder is 10m away from the base of the wall.

Let Height of wall reached by ladder be x

So by Pythagorean theorem

Length of ladder^2 = Distance from base of wall^2 + Height of wall reached by ladder^2

So

 {26}^{2}   =  {10}^{2}  +  {x}^{2}

676 = 100 +  {x}^{2}

576 =  {x}^{2}

 \sqrt{576}  = x

24 = x

Thus 24 is required answer
