substitute y=2x-5 in 2

3x + 2(2x - 5) =11

3x + 4x -10 = 11

7x = 21

x = 21/7

x = 3

substitute x = 3 in equation 1

2(3) - y = 5

6 - y = 5

y = 6-5

y = 1
