Taking the LCM of 3 and 4 to eliminate a..

12a-8b=48
-(12a-15b=48)

+7b=0
b = 0

Substituting b in eq 1

3a-2(0)=12
3a=12
a=12/3
a=4

4 a - 5 b = 16 ------(2)

4* (1) - 3 * (2) => 7b = 0
So b = 0
Substituting this in (1), we get a = 4.
