Now using elemetion method

(i) ×57 - (ii)×49 we get

(2793x - 3249y) - (2793 x - 2401y) =9804 -12348

-3249y + 2401y = - 2544

-848y = - 2544

y = -2544/ -848

y= 3

Putting the value of y in equation (i)

49x -57y= 172

49x - 57×3 =172

49x -171 = 172

49x = 172+ 171

49x = 343

x = 343/ 49

x= 7

Therefore the required solution is

x=7

y=3
