) Solve the following simultaneous equation
4x + 4y = 34
x + 4y = 16

jeetnayaklucky143: 4x+4y=34 & x+4y=16 so 4y=16-x the eq.4x+16-x=34 by solving it the ans.is x=6&y=5/2

Answer:

x = 6,

y = 2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

4x + 4y = 34   be    (1)

x + 4y = 16 be         (2)

Subtract equation (2) from equation (1)

(4x + 4y = 34 ) - ( x + 4y =  16)

3x = 18

x = 6

put x= 6 in equation (2)

6 + 4y = 16

4y = 10

y = 2.5

4x + 4y = 34

let X = 1

4(1) + 4y = 34

4 + 4y = 34

4y = 34/4

4y = 8.5

y = 8.5/4

y = 2.125

X + 4y = 16

let X = 2

2 + 4y = 16

4y = 16 - 2

4y = 14

y = 14/4

y = 3.5
