Hey mate here is your answer

x=10-7y (1)
x=(7-2y)/3. ( 2)
subtract eq 2 by 1
0=(7-2y)/3-{10-7y}
3=7-2y-10+7y
3=-3+5y
5y=3+3
y=6/5
put y value in eq 1
x=10-7(6/5)
x=10-35/5
x=50-35/5
x=15/5
x=3

hope it will help you

RishiChaudhary: why
thakursagar: according to my text book
RishiChaudhary: what is answer
thakursagar: x=3
thakursagar: y=1
RishiChaudhary: no y can't be 1
thakursagar: i don't know
thakursagar: but
RishiChaudhary: because then value of x wouldn't be 3
thakursagar: thanks for trying mate

Answer:

x+7y=10------eq.1

3x-2y=7------eq.2

Multiply eq.1 by 3

We get,

3x+21y=30------eq.1

3x-2y=7----------eq.2

Now,add eq.2&1

We get,

23y=23

y=1

Substitute y=1 in eq.1,

We get,

x+7y=10

x+7×1=10

x+7=10

x=10-7

x=3

(x,y)=(3,1)
