15x−17y=28 ...(i)

17x−15y= -36 ...(ii)

On multiplying (i) by 17 and (ii) by 15 and subtracting, we get

255x−289y=476

255x−225y= -540

On putting y=1 in (i), we get

⇒15x−17=28

⇒15x=45

⇒x=3

∴ x=3, y=1
