2x+y = 5 (i)

3x-y = 5 (ii)

(i) 2x+y = 5

=) y = 5-2x

Putting the value of y in equ(ii)

3x-y = 5

=) 3x-(5-2x) = 5

=) 3x-5+2x = 5

=) 3x+2x = 5+5

=) 5x = 10

=) x = 10/5 = 2

Putting the value of x in equ(i)

2x+y = 5

=) 4+y = 5

=) y = 5-4 = 1

Hope, it helps you.
