EXPLANATION.

⇒ 7x - 2y/xy = 5. - - - - - (1).

⇒ 8x + 7y/xy = 15. - - - - - (2).

As we know that,

⇒ 7x - 2y = 5 xy. - - - - - (1).

⇒ 8x + 7y = 15 xy. - - - - - (2).

From equation (1) & (2), we get.

Multiply equation (1) by 7.

Multiply equation (2) by 2.

We get,

⇒ 7x - 2y = 5 xy. - - - - - (1) x 7.

⇒ 8x + 7y = 15 xy. - - - - - (2) x 2.

We get,

⇒ 49x - 14y = 35 xy. - - - - - (3).

⇒ 16x + 14y = 30 xy. - - - - - (4).

From equation (3) & (4), we get.

Adding both the equations, we get.

⇒ 65x = 65 xy.

⇒ 65 = 65y.

⇒ 1 = y.

⇒ y = 1.

Put the value of y = 1 in equation (1), we get.

⇒ 7x - 2y = 5 xy.

⇒ 7x - 2(1) = 5x(1).

⇒ 7x - 2 = 5x.

⇒ 7x - 5x = 2.

⇒ 2x = 2.

⇒ x = 1.

Values of x = 1 & y = 1.
