The given equations are;

x + y = 10 . . . .(1)

x - y = 12 . . . . (2)

Now,

Adding equations (1) and (2), we get,

➜ x + y + x - y = 10 + 12

➞ x + x + y - y = 22

➞ 2x = 22

➞ x = 22/2

➞ x = 11

Putting the value of x = 11 in equation (2) we get,

➜ x - y = 12

➞ (11) - y = 12

➞ 11 - y = 12

➞ - y = 12 - 11

➞ - y = 1

➞ y = - 1

∴ The value of x = 11, y = - 1 is the solution of the system of the given equations.
