3p-q=-5 (ii)

Multiplying (i) by 1 and (ii) by 2, and subtracting both we get;

p– 2q= 1

–6p–(+)2q= -(+)10

so, p= –11/5

now,

putting value of p in (i)

–11/5–2q= 1

=> -2q= 1+11/5

=> -2q= (5+11)/5

=> q= 16/(10×-2)

=> q= –8/10

=> q= –4/5

So. p= –11/5

q= –4/5
