Solve the following system of equation graphically:

x+3y=6 and 2x-3y=12

~ Firstly let us consider

  • x + 3y = 6...Equation 1
  • 2x - 3y = 12...Equation 2

~ Put x as 0 in equation 1.

→ x + 3y = 6

→ 0 + 3y = 6

→ 3y = 6

→ y = 6/3

→ y = 2

  • Henceforth, coordinates (0,2)

~ Now put y as 0 in equation 1.

→ x + 3y = 6

→ x + 3(0) = 6

→ x + 0 = 6

→ x = 6

  • Henceforth, coordinates (6,0)

~ Now put x as 0 in equation 2.

→ 2x - 3y = 12

→ 2(0) - 3y = 12

→ 0 - 3y = 12

→ -3y = 12

→ y = -12/3

→ y = -4

  • Henceforth, coordinates (0,-4)

~ Now put y as 0 in equation 2.

→ 2x - 3y = 12

→ 2x - 3(0) = 12

→ 2x - 0 = 12

→ 2x = 12

→ x = 12/2

→ x = 6

  • Henceforth, coordinates (6,0)

They intersect at (6,0) \:
