Answer:

21/x + 47/y = 110_____eq. (1)

47/x + 21/y = 162_____eq. (2)

Let ,  u = 1/x and  v = 1/y

21u + 47v = 110______eq.(3)

47u+21v = 162_______eq.(4)

adding eq. (3) and (4)

21u + 47v + 47u + 21v = 162 +110

68u + 68v = 272

u + v = 4 _____eq. (5)

subtracting  eq. (1) from (2)

u - v = 2 ______eq. (6)

Now, by  subtracting  eq.( 6) from eq.(5)

we will get ,

u = 3 , v = 1

(u = 1/x and v = 1/y)

Therefore, x = 1/3 , y = 1
