2x + y = 3............(1)

and x = 2y - 1......(2)

(2) in (1)

2(2y - 1) + y = 3

4y - 2 + y = 3

5y = 5

y = 1

We know that x = 2y - 1 and y =1

x = 2(1) - 1

x = 2 - 1

x= 1

ANSWER : y = 1 and x = 1
