There are many ways to get the answer.
But according to the given equations the easiest method is by adding and subtracting both equation 1 time......
So,
7x-8y=11
+8x-7y=7
15x-15y=18 (3)

7x-8y=11
-8x+7y=-7
-X-y=4 (4)
