Given, x / a + y / b= a + b ............. i

x / a² + y / b²= 2.................ii

=> y/b = a+b - x/a

=> x/a² + y/b× 1/b =2

=> x/a² + a+b - x/ab =2 putting i

=> x [ b- a ] /a²b = [b- a] b

=> x= a²

=> So x= a²

using ii we get

b=y²

So x=a² and y=b² Answer.
